Dr Kim Wheeler is an Osteopath in practice at Warners Bay in the Newcastle area. Kim graduated from RMIT Melbourne in 1996 with a double degree in Osteopathy and Clinical Science. She relocated to Newcastle and established Warners Bay Osteopathic Clinic shortly after. The clinic is located at the Northern end of Lake Macquarie. It is a beautiful lakeside location which is convenient for patients from both east and west sides of the lake, Newcastle and the Hunter Valley. Our patients can be any age from newborn to the elderly. We see patients who have pain, stiffness or difficulty moving. We see people with headaches, back pain, neck, hip, knee and foot pain, shoulder and arm pain. We help athletes from lots of sports who need their bodies to continue to work well. We see babies and children who have sleep difficulties, feeding issues, gut issues and drainage issues such as tonsilitis and glue ear. The key is to help that body to function better.Our skill is to help the body to function better. We help people to find their health.We take a huge history at the first visit to understand exactly what has happened to this person. We combine that information with the physical findings from assessing the way the body moves to form a diagnosis. An Osteopath's work is a bit like being a body detective. We aim to solve the mystery of why this body has been having difficulty.If required we refer for further investigation or imaging via GP or specialists. Sometimes patients do need investigation or surgery not an Osteopath. If it is safe to work then we use our hands to help the body to unwind restrictions, allow drainage and improve movement.We may recommend exercise, dietary or sleep changes.
