HTM Community TransportHaving been established in Mackay for many years HTM Community Transport offers assistance to our most vulnerable community members, the frail aged and young disabled. HTM Community Transport is funded through both the federal and State Governments. Social Services Home and Community Care Funding program for over 65 years and 50 indigenous and the Department of Communities Home and Community Care funding program for under 65 years and under 50 indigenous.With the current growth trend in the Mackay region we are finding demand on our service growing rapidly with many of our clients, especially the more senior ones, feeling very insecure when driving around town. The traffic is moving at a faster pace than most have been used to over the years and their driving ability just isn't what it used to be.HTM is a safe, reliable way for them to get around town and help keep them active within the community without always having to rely on their family to assist them for the more basic everyday living activities.HTM Community Transport strives to encourage clients to remain active independent members in the community for as long as possible and help delay early entry into permanent aged care facilities. Staff can link you with other services that operate within the region and help arrange town transport if traveling for medical appointments.All team members are able to assist clients to their destination should they require that but do not attend appointments with them. We have several vehicles available and wheelchair access in specially modified vehicles should that be required. Mobility aides are catered for when transporting, so there is no need for clients to struggle when out and about as they can take their aides with them.All clients are assessed and registered with the service prior to use and transport is booked in advance so staff can allocate the most appropriate vehicle to the clients needs.HTM Mission Statement is Providing Friendly, Trusted and Reliable Transport Solutions.
